Ellie’s story is a modern tale of overwhelming talent finally being discovered in America after years of meeting with labels and managers in London. This led to a whirlwind courtship by the US entertainment industry including being signed by Atlantic Records USA, taking meetings with Rap mogul Russell Simmons, Billboard Magazine and working on her debut album with the likes of DJ Lethal and William Orbit to name a few. After appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ hugely popular TV show Ellen explained, “I play her music over and over again in my house…I predict she will be the hugest, hugest star.”
Ellie Lawson toured American Bookshop cafes and managed her own career with her own Label ‘Create Your Own Reality’ . She has since sat on many Music industry Panels talking about how she used Social media, marketing and shop/store play in unique and proactive ways. Ellie was awarded the coveted title of Ambassador for 5 years with the Quiksilver brand alongside a select few up and coming acoustic artists such as Ben Howard and Leddra Chapman. Here she made full use of the marketing budget to record new songs, make videos and tours of Quiksilver shops.
Over the last 6 years Ellie has been working with leading Amsterdam Trance DJs such as Richard Durand and Ferry Corsten in Holland by co-writing and adding her vocals to European dance tunes, including ‘Safe From Harm’ with 4 Strings which was #1 on Beatport for 5 weeks consecutively, ‘Wide Awake’ with Richard Durand which was #1 in Music Week’s Cool Cuts Chart , ‘A day Without Rain, which was the first track on the top selling Ferry Corsten Album. She performed Wide Awake live at Brixton Academy to 5,000 Trance fans and released an album of EDM songs with the label A and R records.
Ellie became a new mum with her little boy Wilson in 2013 and after writing and releasing the song ‘For You’ with StoneFace and Terminal using images in the video of the first year. She has taken time out of the industry to fully focus on him in the important first 3 years. She is now fully focused on teaching, coaching and mentoring young artists in the music industry having spent the last 20 years on a whirlwind journey experiencing the highs and lows and having written and recorded over 150 songs.
